Shoko Nagamine, 66, of Hilo, died May 1 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. Born in Okinawa, Japan, he was a retired maintenance supervisor for the University of Hawaii-Hilo, member of Hilo Hooganji Mission, Hui Okinawa, Duffers Golf Club, Okinawan Golf Club, Thorns & Roses Golf Club, Kamana Senior Center Karaoke Club, Papaikou Hongwanji Karaoke Club and Tsukikage Odori Kai.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. May 26 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for an 11 a.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.
He is survived by wife, Aileen Nagamine, of Hilo; daughters, Kaye (Bernard) Nagamine, Susan Nagamine, Nancy (Patrick) Nagamine, all of Hilo; brother, Robert Nagamine, of Hilo; sister, Kikumi Goshi, of Hilo; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Keawe Kaili Alapai, 89, of Pahoa, formerly of Kalihi Uka Valley, Oahu, died May 18 at home. Born in Kilauea, Kauai, she was a retired nurse for the Hawaii State Hospital, kupuna at Royal Elementary School, member of Sacred Heart Society in Honolulu and docent at Iolani Palace.
Friends may call at 12:30 p.m. May 24 at Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home for a 1:30 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 8:30 a.m. May 29 at Our Lady of the Mount Catholic Church, Kalihi Uka, Oahu, for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial follows at Valley of the Temples.
She is survived by son, Sam (Eva) Alapai, of Pahoa; daughters, Valerie Chu, Taila Alapai, both of Washington; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Laureto “Lito” S. Julian, 67, of Pahoa, died April 29 at his residence. Born Jan. 27, 1945, in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was the proprietor of L J Farms and member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pahoa.
Friends may call at 5 p.m. May 25 at Dodo Mortuary chapel for a 7 p.m. service. Friends may also call at 8 a.m. May 26 at the chapel for a 10 a.m. Mass. Burial is at the Pahoa Catholic Church Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn.

Mildred Lehua Taketa, 82, of Hilo, died May 17 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born Aug. 4, 1929, in Honolulu, she was the retired store manager of the Love N Lace bridal shop in Hilo and member of New Hope Christian Fellowship Church in Hilo.

She is survived by husband, Shozo Taketa, of Hilo; daughters, Jettijean (Rodney) Kelii, Laurisa (Harry) Nishimoto, both of Hilo; sons, Russel (Stephanie) Taketa, Dennis (Lori) Taketa, both of Hilo; sister, Renee Von Elsner, of Keaau; brother, Ronald (Shirley) Kobayashi, of Paradise Park; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

Iwao Kishimoto
Iwao Kishimot0, 89, of Honolulu, died April 19. Born in Wainaku, he was a retired self-employed general contractor and Army veteran with Company I, 442nd Regimental Combat Team.

Haukealani Kunewa Alexander, 31, of San Leandro, Calif., died Jan. 1 at Kaiser Hospital in Hayward, Calif. Born July 10, 1980, in Hilo, she was a compliance supervisor for Christian Church Homes in Oakland.
